About Me
Air Force veteran with 15 years of healthcare experience. I grew up in South Texas and went to high school in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I come from a Mexican background and am fluent in Spanish. I enjoy physical fitness, sports, and outdoor activities.
Background
As a cardiopulmonary technician, I participated in Critical Care Air Transportation. We got to turn aircraft into flying ICU’s! Honorably discharged, I continued my career as a respiratory therapist and met my wife Sonia in California. Through many struggles and sacrifices that were made to raise our kids, I finally graduated from Linda Loma University as Physician Assistant 2020. I couldn’t have done this without the support of my wife, Thank you Sonia!
Specialties
Pulmonology, Cardiology, Urology, Critical Care, and Robotic Surgery.
Inspiration
In 2019 I visited Sierra Leone, Africa during my PA program. I met a janitor named John who inspired me to make a difference. I realized access to healthcare in underserved communities is achievable if we can replace excessive spending from waistfull mission trips with investing in native community members. Soon after returning home, we faced the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences amplified my passion for community. This motivated me create Medspañol.

About Me
I am the granddaughter of Mexican migrant farm worker, Gaspar Ochoa, and the daughter of Mexican immigrants. My family is from a small pueblo in Michoacán, Mexico called Santa Fe.
Background and Goals
Over the past five years, I have organized various community events and volunteered in hospitals such as San Joaquin General Hospital. I currently work as a college tutor and licensed phlebotomist. I hope to proudly represent the small percentage of Latinos who pursue a career in the medical field. I attend San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA. I dream of transferring to UC Davis and eventually becoming the first doctor in my family.
My Inspirations
My mother’s experiences, rooted in cultural misunderstanding and language barriers, fueled my passion for improving healthcare for Latinos. To call her my hero would be a mere understatement. Through her challenges and my prior exposure to the medical system, I hope to improve the communication between patients and their doctors.
